I am writing in support of Urbavore Farm’s Master Plan Development proposal.

The solutions in Urbavore’s plan move everyone forward:

• Concerns of a few neighbors are directly addressed.
• Urbavore Farm and Compost Collective KC are allowed to grow and thrive.
• Kansas City can continue on a path toward climate resilience.
• Citizens can continue to access healthy food produced right in KCMO’s Third District.
• KC’s children gain a nature-based educational resource that promotes community health.

Perhaps most importantly, Urbavore’s MPD reflects the will of the vast majority of the Brown Estates community, who love and support Urbavore Farm.

I implore you: please support Urbavore Farm’s rezoning proposal, and promote an excellent model for sustainable, climate-resilient development in Kansas City. Failing to support this plan moves Kansas City backwards, and risks the closure of two of Kansas City’s greenest businesses - EVERYONE LOSES (including the few opposing neighbors).

Vote to support Urbavore Farm when this question comes before City Council in coming weeks.
